Replacement Windshields

Questions & Answers

Q: How long does it take to replace a windshield?

For most vehicles, it will take approximately an hour to install a windshield. This time will vary slightly from vehicle to vehicle.

Q: Does Red G Glass replace more than just windshields?

Yes! In almost every case Red G Glass can replace any piece of glass in all vehicles that have auto glass installed. This includes side door glass, panel glass, vent glass, back glass or rear windshields and quarter glass.

Q: What is the difference between windshield glass and other auto glass?

Windshield glass is made of laminated glass while the other glass in vehicles is made of tempered glass. Both types of glass are very strong and designed to withstand impact. Laminated glass, however, is actually made up of 2 panes of glass separated by a thin layer of clear vinyl. When laminated glass breaks, it remains in one large piece instead of shattering into many small pieces, which is what tempered glass is designed to do in the event of a break.

Q: Where do I drop off my car to get my windshield replaced?

Red G Glass specializes in mobile windshield and auto glass replacement. That means WE COME TO YOU! When you schedule replacement services with us, a mobile service technician will come to a location of your choosing within our expansive service area around Salt Lake City and along the Wasatch Front.

NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, we require a space that provides adequate protection from the elements such as a parking garage, carport or other location that is suitably covered.
